Shauna was first licensed to practice law in 2005 when she was admitted to the Kentucky Bar Association. In 2006, she accepted her first attorney position as a Litigation Project Analyst at Covington & Burling, LLP, in Washington, DC. This firm was among the top 20 firms on the American Lawyer's "A-List." While there, Shauna assisted with large-scale e-discovery projects for various pharmaceutical litigation teams. Her work included the review and analysis of a variety of legal documents. In 2007, she accepted a position as an associate attorney at a top law firm in Kentucky: McBrayer, McGinnis, Leslie, & Kirkland PLLC. As an associate, her most notable accomplishment was the successful argument in Boyd County Fiscal Court v. Thomas Environmental on July 8, 2008, before the Kentucky Court of Appeals.

In May of 2011, Shauna established Rhodes Law Firm, LLC, where she currently acts as the principal and sole practitioner. As principal, she practices in the areas of family law, criminal law, and general civil litigation in both Maryland and DC. Within her practice, she performs legal research, advises clients, writes motions, and conducts trials.

Since the establishment of RLF, Shauna has continually attended seminars and pursued Continuing Legal Education (CLE) courses to remain up-to-date with current laws and expand her knowledge of Maryland and DC law.
